Nigel Lythgoe denies cover-up allegations in ‘All American Girl’ lawsuit

Nigel Lythgoe is backtracking on allegations that he “groped” two contestants on his former reality show. All American girl was part of an extensive behind-the-scenes cover-up. In documents obtained by RadarOnline.comthe controversial television veteran claimed that the women could not prove their accusation, and gave several reasons for this.

Nigel was sued in January by two “All American Girl” contestants.
As this outlet reported, the women filed a lawsuit against Lythgoe who used the pseudonyms “Jane Doe” in January. They accused Lythgoe of appearing on the set and dressing rooms of the short-lived 2003 competition show and “openly spanking and groping” their asses.
The contestants claimed that show employees “witnessed” his alleged “groping and slapping,” but Lythgoe is fighting back, claiming the women have not provided any evidence to support their cover-up allegations.

“They simply claim that NL’s alleged ‘previous groping and slapping’, combined with the alleged fact that NL and Roe Production’s alleged employees or agents ‘witnessed it’, ‘evidence[s] a ‘cover-up,'” read the documents filed Wednesday. “That doesn’t come close to meeting the legal definition of ‘cover-up,’ which is ‘a concerted effort to conceal evidence relating to a sexual assault.'”

They claim he ‘openly slapped and groped’ their asses before things escalated.

He pointed out that “the statute defines ‘cover-up’ as ‘a concerted effort to conceal evidence relating to a sexual assault that encourages individuals to remain silent or prevents information about a sexual assault from becoming public or disclosed to the plaintiff . including, but not limited to, the use of non-disclosure agreements or confidentiality agreements. ”

Lythgoe said the women’s argument “appears to be that in the single case of ‘groping and slapping’ they are not alleging any incident of sexual assault prior to the alleged incident on set, so they have not argued for a ‘cover-up’.” ‘ as it relates to that alleged incident on set.
He also claimed that “no reasonable inference could be drawn that there was a concerted effort to ‘cover up’ the alleged incident on set, especially in light of plaintiffs’ claim that it was ‘openly accepted.’

They said his alleged behavior was “openly accepted.”

Lythgoe is demanding that the “cover-up” accusation be thrown out in court while he continues to fight the lawsuit.
RadarOnline.com told you – the participants alleged that Lythgoe’s alleged behavior escalated when he allegedly insisted that one of the girls ride with him to the studio to meet the rest of the cast after their wrap party.

The second accuser claimed she rode with them to protect her friend. Instead of taking them to the studio, Lythgoe’s accusers claim he took them to his home, where the television veteran made sexual advances on them, including allegedly lifting one of the accuser’s sweaters she was wearing and tried to kiss her – a move she made. said she turned it down.

The second alleged victim said Lythgoe pushed her against his wing despite her protests and forced his mouth and tongue down her throat. They are suing Lythgoe and the production company for assault and battery, sexual harassment, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence.
Lythgoe is also fighting two other sexual assault lawsuits.

Paula Abdul sued him in December, claiming he forced himself on her twice during her appearances on “American Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance.”

He has denied the allegations against him.
