Nikki Glaser rips Ben Affleck for bombing Tom Brady Roast on Netflix

Nikki Glaser criticized Ben Affleck for bombing Netflix’s Tom Brady Roast, telling Barstool Sports’ “KFC Radio” podcast that it was abundantly clear the Oscar winner was unprepared for the live taping. Affleck was one of the event’s surprise roasters.

“I haven’t watched it again as it looked because I don’t like seeing people bombing,” Glaser said of Affleck’s roasting set. ‘He didn’t prepare. He’s someone famous enough that he probably thinks it’s beneath him to do this. Like, “I’m just going to do you a favor, it won’t be that big of a deal.” And then you do it and you say, ‘Oh! This is much bigger than I thought it was going to be. I just call it up,”

“He probably had a pitch to the writers, probably like, ‘Maybe I’ll do an angle where I’m angry at tweets?’ Because that’s his thing,” Glaser added, referencing the awkward moment during Affleck’s set when he seemed to know he was bombing, angering social media commentators.

“I don’t think I’ll ever get this opportunity again,” Affleck said live on stage. ‘Actually, I’ll probably never work again after tonight… You’re all sitting there talking nonsense behind your damn keyboard, that doesn’t make you a fan. That makes you a bitch.”

The audience wasn’t too fond of Affleck’s set either, as his jokes were met with minimal laughter and applause.

“There were so many jokes that weren’t used that could have filled a whole set of his, which would have been great, but they also couldn’t get him on the phone enough to work anything out, he did” He didn’t practice enough, otherwise he just picked a bad premise and had to stick to it the whole time,” Glaser added about Affleck. “It didn’t work right away, so it won’t work later… if your joke blows up, you’re on to the next one. He probably should have.”

Tom Brady’s Netflix Roast proved to be a huge hit with subscribers. The event was one of the main events of Netflix Is a Joke Fest and was hosted by Kevin Hart and roast master Jeff Ross. Comedians like Glaser, Tom Segura, Andrew Schulz, Bert Kreischer, Tony Hinchcliffe and Sam Jay took part in the Roast, along with Brady’s former teammates Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, Drew Bledsoe and more.

Brady admitted on “The Pivot Podcast” a few days after the event that he regretted getting roasted because some of the jokes upset his children. He did not specify which jokes were involved, but many viewers assume they were the jokes aimed at his relationship with Gisele Bündchen.

“I liked it when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so nice. I didn’t like the way they affected my kids,” Brady admitted on the podcast. “It’s the hardest part of… like the bittersweet part of when you do something that you think is only one way, and then all of a sudden you realize, I wouldn’t do that again because of the way it actually turns out. influenced the people I care about most in the world.”

“It makes you a better parent in some ways going through it,” Brady continued. ‘Sometimes you are naive. You don’t know… It will make me a better parent as I go forward. At the same time, I’m glad that everyone who was there had a lot of fun. When we don’t laugh at things, we cry.”

However, Glaser didn’t quite believe Brady’s response. During an interview on “Today With Hoda & Jenna,” the comedian wondered to what extent Brady could have been blindsided by the roast jokes.

“I also don’t think Tom Brady does anything without doing his research and knowing exactly what he’s getting into,” Glaser said. “It’s impossible for me that he didn’t think about what could have happened, because there’s footage out there that you can look at and say, ‘They’re going so fast.’

Glaser added, “But there’s a part of me that thinks that Tom Brady, especially considering his career and how much people love him, no one has ever said anything bad to him in the last thirty years, so he doesn’t know. what can take someone there.”

Glaser was one of several comedians who roasted Brady over his divorce from Bündchen, who began a relationship with her jiu-jitsu instructor after her marriage ended.

“Tom Brady. Five-time Super Bowl MVP, most career wins, most career touchdowns,” Glaser joked during the roast. “You have seven rings – well, eight, now that Gisele has given hers back. The only thing dumber than saying yes to this piece of meat was when you said, “Hey honey, you should try jiu-jitsu.”
