All 14 clubs were in action during Week 11, and now the competition will take a short break for the upcoming international period. The unbeaten streak extends to eleven games and the group picked up their eighth consecutive win. No opposing team or coach has found a way to contain Babra Banda, who is now tied with Portland’s Sophia Smith in the Golden Boot race with eight goals. Add in a renaissance season for Marta and this team looks unstoppable. |

The Midwest side is also undefeated in 11 games, but just one goal this weekend against the last-place team in the league isn’t quite the epitome of a dominating team. Still, the team should be happy with the clean sheet, something that has not been easy for them, and defender Elizabeth Ball was also on the scoresheet. |

Croix Bethune seems to be locking up more Rookie of Years with each passing week, but her efforts on the field should generate MVP buzz as well. She leads the league in assists (8) and has been a key part of the Spirit’s success this season. The group has been on the wild side in the last two games, and if they start to get clean sheets, watch out. |

Their seven-game winning streak came to an end in Orlando. The squad has the depth to function without Sophia Smith, who missed the match with a calf injury, but hopefully we’ll get a taste of the full-strength play-offs between the two sides in October. For now, Portland remains a contender, despite the brief speed bump in Orlando. |

The group were undefeated in their last five matches and recorded a fourth victory against struggling expansion side Bay FC. Ella Stevens’ goalscoring efforts earned her a place in the starting lineup and step by step the reigning NWSL champions are letting everyone know they are built for the long haul. |

I’m not sure there’s another team in the league that struggles more on the road than the Courage. They have now suffered four losses in their last five games, and their most recent against the Dash was by far the ugliest. Losing Denise O’Sullivan is proving to be a much bigger problem, and we’ll see if the three-back experiment is over after conceding three goals |

Chicago red stars |

They are sticking to their game plan and have Mallory Swanson involved more, but it will be a touch and go with goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher absent with an injury, and second forwards Penelope Hocking and Ally Schlegel getting more time together on the pitch. |

Jaedyn Shaw is back and so is Alex Morgan and this group still couldn’t buy a goal against rivals Angel City. Naomi Girma and Abby Dahlkemper playing together for 90 minutes are a bright spot in a goalless draw. |

Rookie Emma Sears played for Louisville against organized Chicago. They are no strangers to settling for a draw, and solid defensive performances helped secure all three points, which could be a turning point for the team. |

They put in a valiant effort against their Southern California rivals, but are quickly turning into the streakiest team in the league. They’ve been in this position before, but aren’t sure the group has enough for another push in the second half of the regular season. |

Last week I said that we are starting to see progress for head coach Fran Alonso and his tactics, and this week they have delivered again. The Dash dropped three goals during a visit to North Carolina, and it’s no surprise that Houston’s internationals helped earn the win. A nice welcome for Brazilian defender Tarciane. |

The government went toe to toe with the Spirit, but simply failed to achieve a result. A third straight loss and Seattle is still figuring out how they’re going to get themselves out of it. |
