Paramount+ returns this summer with movie nights in New York

The Paramount+ Movie Nights series returns to New York this summer with more than 25 free outdoor screenings. Paramount+ will also be the official sponsor of Bryant Park Movie Nights, the longest-running outdoor movie series in New York City, and Brooklyn Magazine’s Movie Nights, now in four Brooklyn parks, including Coney Island.

The screenings are open to the public and offer free admission. Locations and dates are as follows:

Bryant Park: Monday evenings – June 10 through August 12
McCarren Park: June 7, 14 and 28
Prospect Park: June 26; July 3, 10 and 17
Coney Island: July 11, 18 and 25; August 1 and 8
Fort Greene Park: August 15, 22 and 29; 5 September

Select screenings also offer themed food and drinks for free and for purchase. On-site activations, including interactive games and photo opportunities, will also be available during select screenings.

DATES

Gracemoon Arts, a new theater company, will open its first show at their theater in Bushwick, Brooklyn on July 11. The summer shows at Gracemoon Arts emphasize conversations about race, misogyny, addiction and love. They include an 11-show run that concludes on July 20.

The theater consists of actors from theater, film and television who will kick off the opening with a screening of the play “Hollander” by Amiri Baraka in honor of the 60th anniversary. Daren Herbert (“Pretty Hard Cases”) and Leah Doz (“Strays”) will star as Clay and Lula. The show originally premiered at the Cherry Lane Theater in Greenwich Village, NY, in March 1964.

Gracemoon Arts Company members include Amrit Kaur (“Sex Lives of College Girls”), Hamza Haq (“Transplant”), Andrea Carter (“Chucky”), Krista Morin (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) and more.

Megan McGrath has been named senior vice president of unscripted development at Fremantle, the creators behind “American Idol,” “America’s Got Talent” and “Password.” In addition to McGrath, Stephanie Valentin and Emily Bon also join Fremantle as vice presidents of unscripted development.

“Fremantle is already home to some of the world’s best-known titles in the unscripted world and our team is taking on the challenge of identifying the next wave of culture-defining series,” said Jimmy Fox, executive vice president of unscripted development and sales. “With each of their unique backgrounds and individual perspectives when it comes to ideation, I am inspired by our ability to create a diverse set of projects across a broad spectrum of genres for the US market and beyond.”
