Peru to scrap all Covid-related entry restrictions after 2.5 years

Peru has officially lifted all COVID-related restrictions and resumed normal tourism after two and a half years of some of the toughest regulations in the world.

Travel to this South American country will once again be unlimited. The state of emergency has been in effect since March 2020 has officially expired from November 1, 2022.

All extensions of the state of emergency declaration, including travel bans and domestic COVID restrictions, have also been lifted.

This means that travelers can re-enter Peru without any restrictions following the announcement that the country’s state of emergency has ended.

In the past, visitors were required to show confirmation of vaccination or negative COVID test results produced within 48 hours of entering the country.

The regulations in this South American country were among the strictest in the world.

These evolving restrictions over the past two and a half years have included strictly enforced curfews and lockdowns, requirements for vaccinations and booster shots to enter most businesses, and laws regulating the use of indoor and outdoor masks, with in in some cases KN-95 masks were required. or double masking.

However, all COVID-related regulations, such as the obligation to vaccinate and wear masks, will be lifted once the state of emergency is lifted.

This means that regular tourism in Peru can resume from November 1, 2022.

Travelers will no longer need to pre-register with the Peruvian immigration app, sign an affidavit, or provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test to enter the country.
