Pikes Peak offers a new shuttle service to the summit

A new travel option for the 2024 summer season could bring the total number of people passing through the gates of the Pikes Peak Highway to well over half a million.

“There are so many people coming in and out of the office or at the entrance gate saying I’m too scared to drive those switchbacks above the tree line, like that’s not for me, do you have a shuttle?” Skler Rorabaugh, Pike Peak America’s mountain manager, said.

This summer there is a new option for $30 package deals that include the entrance fee and a shuttle up the mountain.

“We can tell them that yes, ride up to mile seven, which is a pretty easy, pretty comfortable ride for most people, you can get out, hop on the shuttle and then take that shot all the way to the top,” Rorabaugh said.

On May 1, the North Slope Recreation Area at the base of Pikes Peak will open for the season.
