Predictions for UEFA Champions League Final, Europa League Final, Conference League Final

All European finals are scheduled for UEFA’s continental competitions and while there may be no English teams left at this stage, there are quite a few intriguing stories to watch. Bayer Leverkusen have already set a record for the longest undefeated streak in the post-World War II era 49 games in a row without a lossand they will be confronted Atalanta while the German team is chasing a treble this season.

Building on the Budesliga’s success in European competition this season, Borussia Dortmund have defied the odds behind them strong performance from Gregor Kobel in net but they still need more from him to topple Real Madrid in the Champions League final. Finally, in Conference Leauge, Olympiacos will essentially have a home game after the bounce Aston Villaclashes with Fiorentina while Italian teams lead the way Germany with two each in the final.

But if you look at each match, who will emerge victorious?

Champions League final: Borussia Dortmund vs. Real Madrid

Date: Saturday June 1 | Time: 3:00 PM ET
Place: Wembley Stadium — London, England
TV: CBS | Current: Biggest+

Somehow, when Real Madrid are not at their best, it is when they are producing some of their best results under Carlo Ancelotti. By miraculous comebacks to dominant attacking performances, when Real Madrid are firing on all cylinders they are a joy to watch, but due to injuries and rotation that has rarely been the case this season. It doesn’t matter much as they are on their way to winning La Liga and are one win away from a Champions League title. But with Marco Reus If he leaves Dortmund after the season, it could be enough to propel the Black and Yellows to a spectacular result and spell a storybook end to his career.

If Judas Bellingham faces his former team, there are plenty of things to watch in the match, but it could be down to the goalkeepers. Although Kobel is in top form, Thibaut Courtois has set the standard to keep his team in the Champions League match against Real Madrid. Although he has missed time this season due to injuries, it would make sense for him to start in the final, especially on the podium at Wembley.

Prediction: Real Madrid won’t put in a pretty performance, but they will get the job done when it comes to securing their 15th Champions League title in club history. Real Madrid 2, Borussia Dortmund 1

Europa League final: Atalanta vs. Bayer Leverkusen

Date: Wednesday May 22 | Time: 3:00 PM ET
Place: Aviva Stadium – Dublin, Ireland
TV: CBS Sports Network | Current: Biggest+

The Europa League final is quite an intriguing affair as Gian Piero Gasperini has his Atalanta side just two wins away from a double, but in their path is the invincible Bayer Leverkusen. Undefeated in 49 consecutive matchesLeverkusen wants to do what no team has done before securing an unconquerable treble while competing in European competition. I want to stop the in-form Gianluca ScamaccaThis could be an incredible final because while Atalanta have been good at starting games quickly, no team is better at finishing late than Leverkusen.

As of the 80th minute, Leverkusen have outscored their opponents 32-5 in all competitions and when it comes to injury time, things get even better for Alonso’s men. After the 90th minute, Leverkusen outscored their opponents 14–0, turning five matches into wins and another three into draws. For any team to win would be a monumental achievement, meaning the fireworks will be on display in Dublin.

Prediction: To be honest, I don’t want to make one as I find it difficult to bet against any of these in-form teams, but since I have to make a prediction here I have to assume that Leverkusen’s luck will run out at some point. They have struggled defensively since securing the Bundesliga title and Scamacca is just the striker who can make them pay for it. Score: Atalanta 2, Bayer Leverkusen 1

Europa Confrence League Final: Olympiacos vs. Fiorintina

Date: Wednesday May 29 | Time: 3:00 PM ET
Place: Aigia Sophia Stadium – Athens, Greece
Current: Biggest+ and CBS Sports Golazo Network

Greek giants Olympiacos are in with a chance of winning their first European title in club history, essentially playing a home game in Greece for the Conference League final. Facing a Fiorentina side that isn’t particularly good at scoring or defending, that’s where home cooking could help Olympiacos immensely. Against Aston Villa, striker Ayoub El Kaabi became the Conference League scoring leader with 10 goals and became the first player to score five goals over two legs in a match in competition history, defeating Villa almost single-handedly. While their league season was something to forget, bringing Olympiacos’ firepower to bear against Fiorentina feels like something that will only end one way.

Prediction: It will be a celebration in Greece as another El Kaabi goal is all Olympiacos needs to emerge with a win in the match. Score: Olympiacos 3, Fiorentina 0
