Producer Media Res of ‘The Morning Show’ appoints Sandra Dewey as COO

Turner Broadcasting and Max alumnus Sandra Dewey has joined “The Morning Show” producer Media Res as Chief Operating Officer.

Dewey will help guide the company’s expansion into scripted and nonfiction content. Media Res, founded in 2017 by former HBO executive Michael Ellenberg, has a growth plan in place following a recent investment from Redbird IMI, the media-focused fund led by former CNN and NBCUniversal chief Jeff Zucker.

Dewey had a long tenure as a senior business executive at Turner Broadcasting during the company’s heyday as a pioneer in cable programming. Media Res is a busy production boutique in Los Angeles, home to Apple TV+’s star-studded drama series Reese Witherspoon-Jennifer Aniston, as well as buzzy shows like Amazon Prime Video’s “I’m a Virgo” and the Apple TV+ drama series “Pachinko ” and limited series “Extrapolations.”

Dewey previously served as president of operations and production for Warner Media’s streaming service Max, which included business planning and the launch of the service. At Turner, her roles included leading business affairs, production and operations for TNT, TBS and truTV.
