Unlike other designers who focus on celebrity placement and magazine credits, Rag & Bone’s Robert Geller focuses on the real people of New York City and beyond, who will wear his clothes in their everyday lives. “We try to create a wardrobe that meets all aspects and needs of our customers’ lives,” he said. “We built it on four pillars: we have the denim that is our foundation and where Rag & Bone started, we have the ready-to-wear that moves the collection towards fashion with wearability, the sportswear and the appropriate clothing.”

Easy-to-wear pieces include sweaters styled with wide-leg jeans that Geller predicts will still be trendy next spring. Fashionable accents such as jersey stitched inserts on the ribcage and sleeves give the sweaters extra cachet. “I think it’s great when we get it done. It’s hard to get to, but this is who our guy is. He doesn’t want to look too dressed up. He wants to look good,” Geller said.

Other pieces, like the tried-and-true Manson bomber jacket, come in new colorways this season, including a washed blue that mimics denim. In the field of jeans, the brand is introducing a new fabric this season. The denim, called ‘Airflex’, is similar to the brand’s Miramar stretch technology, but also has a quick-drying, cooling feel, perfect for spring.
