Los Cabos Resort Chain Expands Into Luxury Vacation Residences For Travelers

If Los Cabos continues its evolution into a luxury destination, a global resort chain taking steps to solidify its presence in the region and offer luxury guests to Baja California Sur even more options to enjoy their vacation getaway to the sun, sand and surf .

The latest company to add additional hospitality services for travelers in Los Cabos is Marriott International, which is adding a new level of luxury vacation rentals for tourists.

Marriott International introduces its Marriott International residences product or branded homes, to give Los Cabos an interesting mix of home and resort.

The concept is that tourists who choose to stay at a Residences by Marriott International property can enjoy the best of both worlds during their Los Cabos vacation. They can still get the high level of resort customer service they expect from Marriott International, but with a more casual, at-home feel.

According to a company statement, “the branded residence collections offer luxury hotel benefits such as access to hotel programming, activities and consumer properties, including seasonal promotions, complimentary breakfast packages, resort credits for activities and consumption, complimentary nights and more.”

That’s why they go a step further than traditional vacation rentals and offer many more services and amenities for travelers.

A resort with the feeling of home

Marriott claims its resorts also feature some of the comforts of home that travelers also crave.

For example, Marriott says Residences by Marriott International properties in Los Cabos offer travelers “spacious living areas, multiple bedrooms, social areas, fully equipped kitchens and even stand-alone villas with private pools and outdoor spaces.”

These new resort-style accommodations are designed for multi-generational travel groups who need different spaces in their accommodations. They can also suit small groups of tourists traveling together, such as two couples.

Properties now available in Los Cabos

There are already two of these resorts available in Los Cabos.

Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve is a beachfront property in Los Cabos that offers visitors oversized suites with up to five bedrooms. This is an example of an upscale luxury home that would be perfect for multiple couples or even a small family reunion.

The traditional Mexican hacienda-style property is designed to make travelers feel right at home with furnishings and artwork from local artisans. It is inspired by their passion for the sea and reflects cultural symbols and images.

The Residences at Solaz, a Luxury Collection Resort, is another of these properties.

This property blends the comfort of a traditional Baja California beach house with all the great amenities of a luxury Los Cabos resort.

There are several three-bedroom properties available that could suit two couples traveling together or possibly even a couple inviting the in-laws to travel with them.

What visitors need to know

While the Residences by Marriott International are a new emerging trend in Los Cabos lodging offering a unique blend of a luxury resort with the convenience and ambiance of home, it comes at a price.

Looking at Solaz residences for mid-November yields two lodging options currently available to travelers for over $4,000 per night. No, that is not in Mexican Pesos, but in dollars.

Even justifying that the property can accommodate two couples, and perhaps even splitting the cost, puts the price of these properties well into the luxury category and beyond the budget of many Los Cabos travelers and journalists.

If you are looking for a luxury residence style vacation destination to Los Cabos and have the money, this could be a good option for you. However, most travelers may be better off at an all-inclusive Marriott resort in Los Cabos.
