Will Trump go to jail? Several legal analysts have done so shared their punishment predictions. During an appearance on CNN, former special counsel for the Department of Defense Ryan Goodman said, “I expect the prosecutor will ask for a prison sentence, and I think there’s a good chance the judge will impose a prison sentence.”

CNN legal analyst Standard Requirementsargued: “In the most serious FBR [falsifying business records] cases, a prison sentence is routinely imposed. This is the most serious case of corporate data falsification in New York State history. I think Alvin Bragg is going to ask for a prison sentence and I think Judge Merchan will consider that very seriously.

Former prosecutor Mark O’Mara disagreed. “I don’t think he’s going to put him in jail. “I really don’t,” he said. “I believe that the convictions themselves will be sufficient punishment for this defendant in the eyes of this judge.”
