A Seattle police officer’s bodycam footage captured the moment they shot a suspect… who pointed a gun at police.
The footage — filmed Wednesday and released Friday by Seattle police — begins in a hotel room with officers at the ready and guns drawn. One of the officers opens the door and confronts a man standing outside… who pulls a gun from his jacket.
Officers spring into action… with one grabbing the gun before firing several shots, killing the suspect. His compatriots also shoot at the man, who lies dead in the hallway.
Seattle police say the 67-year-old suspect arrived at a hotel in Tukwila, Washington, thinking he would meet two girls, an 11-year-old and a 7-year-old, in the room.
Instead, agents from Washington State’s Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce lay in wait to encounter him… the culmination of a sting operation.
A bullet reportedly grazed one officer at the scene…although it only resulted in a minor injury.
Details surrounding the shooting – such as what exactly the suspect is accused of – are still unclear.
The suspect has also not yet been identified.
