Simone Biles turns one of Donald Trump's controversial terms into a winning tweet

Simone Biles celebrated her ‘black lane’ after winning her second all-round gymnastics gold at the Paris Olympics.

“I love my black track,” the nine-time Olympic medalist wrote on X, formerly Twitter, sharing a tweet from singer Ricky Davila that read: “Simone Biles is the GOAT, winning gold medals and dominating gymnastics is her black job.”

Former President Donald Trump has injected the term into public debate in recent weeks, raising eyebrows on several occasions.

The Republican candidate claimed during the June 27 presidential debate that undocumented immigrants crossing the southern border are “now taking black jobs.”

It led many to wonder what on earth a “black job” is supposed to be, and they accuse Trump of clinging to stereotypes about the type of work black people do.

Several black Democrats called it out, including Rep. Jasmine Crockett (Texas), who wrote at the time: “I guess Trump doesn’t think my job is a ‘black job’.”

Trump made the same claim again during his disastrous appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists’ annual convention on Wednesday.

Many social media users have since used the term to describe roles such as Olympic legend or the presidency, for example, joking that Vice President Kamala Harris is gearing up for the ultimate dark job.

Biles has won two gold medals at the Olympics so far, bringing her total to six.

On Thursday night, she became the first American gymnast in history to win two golds; in 2016 she also took home the top prize. With five eponymous skills and a more distinguished record than any other gymnast in history, she is widely considered the greatest of all time in her sport.
