Slack CEO Denise Dresser Comes To TechCrunch Disrupt

When Slack CEO Denise Dresser took over in November last year, making her the third CEO in less than a year at the business communications company. That kind of unrest brings its own problems. She’ll join us for a fireside chat to discuss that transition and more at the SaaS Stage at JS Disrupt, taking place October 28-30 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

Denise Dresser became CEO after her predecessor, Lidiane Jones, left after just ten months to become CEO at Bumble, unable to resist the temptation of running a publicly traded company. She took over after company co-founder and CEO Stewart Butterfield left two years after Salesforce bought the company for $28 billion.

Dresser spent more than a dozen years at Salesforce in various leadership roles before being promoted to lead Slack. Before joining Salesforce, she worked at Arthur Andersen and later at Oracle. That’s a lot of entrepreneurial expertise she brings to the table.

In an interview with JS in March, she described her leadership approach:

I ask a lot of questions, and I am definitely an accountant through and through,” she says. “So I like to be organized and I will continue to do so, but it’s not like it has a big appeal. I think the foundations are already there and it’s an incredibly well-run organization.

The SaaS Stage line-up, including our conversation with Denise Dresser, takes place on October 29 – read more about the event here.
