Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila will close permanently in July

According to hospitality group Accor, Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila will close its operations effective July 1.

The hotel has announced that it will close and cease operations from July 1, 2024,” Accor told BusinessWorld in a Viber message on Friday.

“This decision is part of our ongoing commitment to providing the best possible experience for our guests and colleagues,” it added.

The hotel said it will honor appointments and reservations and close its doors until the end of June.

“We are deeply grateful for the continued support and patronage of our stakeholders, employees and guests who have played an important role in this long journey,” the report said.

The hotel was built in 1973 and opened in 1976.

In 1980, Sofitel was purchased by Accor, joining the group’s Novotel, Mercure and Ibis hotel brands. – Aubrey Rose A. Inosante
