Continuing its mission to unleash a startup revolution for the country, the Quezon City government unveils the third cohort of the StartUp QC program.

The kickoff event, held last August 9 at the Narra Bistro Cafe, provided a launching pad for entrepreneurs, partnerships and collaboration, showcasing their vision and projects in various sectors including technology, construction, manufacturing, education, entertainment, financing and employment.

This new cohort will undergo training, coaching and mentorship to help accelerate the growth of start-up companies. The program also includes workshops, pre-pitch synergy sessions, pitch and grant evaluation, mixers and networking sessions, and a culminating demo day.

The new wave of startups primarily includes security system service Alerto PH, which focuses on connecting people and automating alerts before, during and after emergencies and disasters. Alerto PH consists of world-class ICT engineers focused on delivering smart city solutions in the areas of travel, safety and health.

BUILDIT is revolutionizing the construction game and is an all-in-one software marketplace for every construction need. It’s a hub that connects contractors and suppliers, and a great resource for companies looking for quality construction materials.

Lithos Manufacturing is leading the way in sustainable production in manufacturing, developing cost-efficient solutions in agriculture, aquaculture, animal production, water treatment and industrial processes – enabling communities to thrive while protecting their well-being and the environment.

For aspiring actors, Callback PH provides a simple and interactive way to navigate the casting process. Callback PH has a convenient web application that allows users to build their set card, register for auditions online, and be discovered by casting agents and producers effortlessly.

Also in the latest cohort is Pasajob, the country’s first-ever chain referral job platform, which connects employers and job seekers through referrals. It is designed to create the perfect match in finding jobs and talented individuals, while providing jobs and earning opportunities, ultimately transforming the recruitment process in the country.

Kwentoon is a digital company that focuses on improving children’s literacy. It features fun and educational stories created by local artists, making reading fun for young readers. In addition, it supports local artists by providing training and employment opportunities, while simultaneously working to increase literacy in the community.

Founded by students of the University of the Philippines, NYHA Robotics inspires the youth by providing quality education in robotics and technology to students of all ages. They develop programs and centers that teach the core concepts of robotics, helping students build essential skills and a deep understanding of the field.

“As much as possible, we want Quezon City to be associated only with enjoyable, progressive and innovative things, only with things that you as residents of Quezon City will be proud of,” Mayor Maria Josefina “Joy” G. Belmonte said in her remarks.

“We have created synergy with everything we do,” she continued. “Quezon City will never stop with this project as long as there are innovative minds. We must serve the country one creative idea at a time.”
