StudioCanal TV appoints Margaret Conway as head of physical production

StudioCanal has appointed Margaret Conway head of physical production for TV as the Canal+ Group-owned company continues to shape its small screen business.

Conway will be based in Britain and will report to MK Kennedy, the former Netflix executive who was recently hired to lead StudioCanal TV as executive director of TV series.

With 30 years of experience, Conway joins from renowned British TV company Red Production, owned by StudioCanal, where she was head of production. Before joining Red, she worked as a freelance producer on shows including Danny Brocklehurst’s ‘Brassic’, Daragh Carville’s ‘The Bay’, Mike Bullen’s ‘Cold Feet’ and Reggie Yates’ ‘Make Me Famous’.

“The appointment of Margaret Conway as head of physical production for StudioCanal TV marks an important moment in our evolution as a TV studio,” said Kennedy. “We want to let broadcasters, platforms and other partners know that we are officially structuring our studio for growth and for the long term. Starting with physical production, we create reliable structures and consistency in our approach to execution – regardless of territory – so that our partners know what to expect as we embark on an ambitious series together.”

Emmanuel Jacquelin, who currently oversees physical production of StudioCanal TV’s French series, will report to Conway starting July 1.

StudioCanal is currently in post-production on three series including Urban Myth’s ‘Paris Has Fallen’, an adaptation of the hit action film franchise ‘Has Fallen’, ‘Families Likes Ours’, Thomas Vinterberg’s first project since his Oscar-winning feature ‘Another Round ,” and the James Norton-starring “Playing Nice.”
