Stylist Law Roach Says He’s Only Retiring From ‘Icons’

Law Roach got real about me retiring from styling ‘icons’ Zendaya and how they contributed to her evolving style.

“I was retired for seven months, but it keeps calling me back,” Roach, 45, said exclusively We weekly at the Abbey’s Relaunch Party in Hollywood on Thursday, June 20. “I came back because of Zendaya, and now I did something with Celine Dion And Naomi Campbellso I guess I’ll retire from icons.”

Roach has worked closely with 27-year-old Zendaya as her stylist over the years and raved about their strong bond. “We grew up together, so we just evolved together,” he said, noting that her style is always “evolving.”

Despite announcing his retirement from the fashion world in March 2023, Roach recently helped Zendaya change her look during the Challengers press tour, wearing tennis-themed dresses, pleated skirts and more. She even went blonde for the era of the film.

Some of Zendaya’s favorite designers include Louis Vuitton, Christian Louboutin, Thom Browne, Jacquemus and more. Roach told Us that the former Disney Channel star has “still” not worn designers who refused to dress her early in her career.

“That’s still true, and there are some of those designers who still haven’t worn them,” he said, reminiscing about the “big five” brands: Saint Laurent, Chanel, Gucci, Valentino and Dior. “But there is no hard feelings. I love everyone. I don’t hold grudges anymore. We are further than that.”

Roach told it too Us that Dion’s ethereal level of taste has taught him “how to be a better stylist.”

“She is a real fashion girl,” he praised. “She actually changed my life. So when she calls, I’ll be there.’

Dion previously brought Roach out of retirement for the 2024 Grammy Awards in February, and he recently styled her for her cover shoot with Vogue France in April, when she rocked fluffy coats, pleated dresses, stylish shirts and more.

Roach said confidently Us Thursday that he expects Dion to return to the stage in Las Vegas soon – the singer, who previously had two separate residencies in Sin City, has been struggling with ‘stiff-person syndrome’ for several years – but remained tight-lipped when it comes to the costumes she will rock.

“It’s definitely going to happen. She is the queen of Vegas. She always will be,” he said.
