Surelock Homes takes home the win as 2024 Best Small Business Name Champion

Surelock Homes, a locksmith based in Hastings, has been crowned Britain’s best small business name for 2024. The winning name was chosen by the British public, earning the company a prestigious title and a cash prize of £2,500.

Simply Business, a leading provider of small business insurance, launched the competition to celebrate the creativity, originality and humor of small business owners in the UK. Their research highlighted the significant impact a witty or funny business name can have on success, with more than half (51%) of consumers more likely to shop from a company with a humorous name.

The competition, which attracted more than 2,500 public votes, was judged in collaboration with comedian and pun enthusiast Darren Walsh. Surelock Homes emerged as the favorite, beating out other finalists such as Tikka Chance On Me and Prints Charming.

This year’s competition was part of Simply Business’s ‘You name it. We insure it’ TV campaign, featuring cleverly named British companies such as Pane in the Glass, Get Stuffed, Curl Up and Dye and Rough Around The Hedges.
