Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets department has fallen from the top spot
The seemingly unstoppable reign of The department of tortured poets has ended.
After we got on top of the Billboard 200 albums chart for 12 consecutive weeks, Taylor Swift‘s album, which was released on April 19, was replaced by a newer release, as recorded via Billboard‘s chart from July 27.
The 34-year-old Swift’s eleventh studio album was toppled Eminem‘s new album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)which was released on Friday, July 12.
TTPD dropped to number 4 on the chart during its 13th week on the list, selling 82,000 copies.
The latest project from Eminem, 51, whose real name is Marshal Bruce Mathers IIIcharting the rapper’s 11th No. 1 album, which he’s tied with Bruce Springsteen, Barbara Streisand And Kanye West for the fifth No. 1 album ranking of all time.
Being at the front of the pack The Beatleswith 19 number 1 albums, Jay Z and Swift, with 14 No. 1 albums each, and Drakewith 13 number 1 albums.
The hatching of TTPT gave Swift a slew of record-breaking performances, selling 2.6 million equivalent albums in the first week of release, with 1.9 million traditional album sales (including digital downloads, CDs, vinyl LPs and cassettes).
TTPD had the third-largest sales week ever in the modern era, trailing only ‘NSync‘S No obligations (2.4 million) and Adele‘S 25 (3.37 million) in terms of most albums sold in one week.
The album also turned out to be a masterstroke for other reasons.
In April, the American Heart Association claimed that the title track of TTPD has 110 beats per minute, which is the correct rate for hands-only CPR.
“A double album!?! So double your chances on songs with life-saving beats!?!” the AHA wrote in an Instagram post on April 19. “If you see a teen or adult collapse, call 911 and then push hard and fast in the center of the chest to the rhythm of ‘The department of tortured poets.’ Thank you, @taylorswift.”
Not only is the title track life-saving, but it’s also rumored to be written about Swift’s ex-boyfriend. Matty Healey.
In the song, Swift talks about bonding moments with her “tattooed golden retriever” — Healy, 35, is covered in tattoos — while referencing a conversation about how “Charlie Put should be a bigger artist. (Healy once tweeted his praise of Puth’s talent in a social media post that was resurfaced by fans who followed him TTPD‘s release.)
