The former chef at Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney’s sandwich shop says the menu is ‘disappointing’

Chief Penny occurs Ariana Madix And Katie Maloney‘s menu after the Vanderpump Rules stars opened their long-awaited sandwich shop without the expertise of the 52 year old, RadarOnline.com has learned.
After major delays and a feud with Penny, who spent months crafting the menu and custom sandwich combinations, Something About Her finally opened last week — and the ladies’ ex-chef has some criticism.

Penny said it was “not her menu” and “not the sandwiches” she put together when she was hired by Madix and Maloney.
“This is not what I put together. This is not the vision I had for this place,” the celebrity chef shared The American sun after the deli opened.

Penny is unimpressed with what she sees and claims that their combinations are confusing and unappealing to the eye.
“People wanted something spectacular. The sandwiches sounded sexy, but unfortunately looked disappointing,” she said.

The chef gave several examples of what Madix and Maloney allegedly did wrong.
“They don’t know how to use each other. I wouldn’t bring five different types of bread for ten sandwiches,” she noted. “I also wouldn’t put certain sandwiches on certain types of bread because the bread-to-meat ratio is completely different from what I’ve seen in people’s photos and posts.”

Penny famously created the Greek Goddess sandwich, as featured on Vanderpump Rules, which remained The Meg. The chef said this is a sandwich the reality stars would have messed up, telling the outlet that she would “never put a Greek goddess sandwich in a lavash wrap because it’s so soggy and will fall apart.” “

One thing Penny is adamant about is that “these sandwiches are not my creations.” However, she said, “They definitely use some ingredients in every product I’ve introduced them to, like Boursin cheese.”
“I can say that 50% of the menu is items that I gave them and they changed some things.”

Penny has no plans to enter the now-open sandwich shop and thinks it could be short-lived because Madix and Maloney “are not restaurant operators.”
“Keeping the business going will be a challenge,” she said. “At some point fans will realize that the only person they will see in the store is Terry, Katie’s mother.”

“It’s a place you just finish once and for all,” she told The Sun. “It’s not a business that can scale. Unfortunately, their overhead will be too high and they won’t be able to make enough products.”
