The Herman Miller Vantum comes in four new colors

Herman Miller makes some of the best office and gaming chairs in the world, and today the company announced an updated version of the Vantum gaming chair, which comes in four new colors. When Herman Miller first released the Vantum in 2022, it was available in three color options. Obsidian black, arctic white and flare red.

Now consumers have the option to pick up the Vantum in Nightfall, Mystic, Helio, and Abyss. The new color range makes it much easier for buyers to customize their chairs to suit their gaming setup. All three original colors will also still be available for those who prefer them, says Herman Miller. The new Vantum is available today for $895, and can be picked up at Herman Miller website straight away.

While $895 isn’t cheap for a gaming chair, there’s a reason to choose something like this. Not least the 12-year Herman Miller warranty. It’s the comfort. More importantly, its ability to support your long-term health. When I reviewed the Herman Miller Vantum after its launch, it was the best chair I had ever sat in. Mainly because it helped me get rid of the back and neck pain I had experienced with previous chairs. The only better experience I’ve ever had was with Herman Miller’s Embody chair, which I reviewed earlier this year.

The point is that you buy a Herman Miller chair because you don’t want to have a sore back or neck after hours of gaming in the chair.

In addition to new colors, the Herman Miller Vantum comes with a redesigned headrest

A new range of color options is always nice, no matter the product. But it’s also nice when something that possibly should have been improved gets the upgrade treatment. In this case, Herman Miller has renewed the headrest of the Vantum.

The overall design is the same. You can still move it vertically and tilt the angle of the headrest to suit your current activity. Herman Miller says it’s now easier to adjust it vertically. If you sit upright while gaming or working, it is usually more comfortable to set the vertical position slightly higher. However, if you lean back in the chair to relax, this position can make it more difficult to properly support your neck and the back of your head. So you may want to put it in a lower position and tilt the angle of the headset a little.

Of course this can differ from person to person. But the easier adjustment should make it less cumbersome to make these changes, even while sitting in the chair.

All the same features are still there

Apart from the new colors and the improved headrest, the Vantum has not changed. It still offers the same customizable features it initially came with. This includes the adjustable arms, but also the adjustable seat depth, lumbar support, chest support and more. The chair also features numerical tilt settings for when and if you want to recline. There’s no option to lock the backrest in place, but you can adjust the tension of the backrest so leaning back is actually quite easy.
