The next Xbox Showcase and Call of Duty Direct will take place on June 9

Microsoft has confirmed the date of the 2024 Xbox Games Showcase, which will take place on June 9, followed by a Call of Duty Direct. The Xbox Showcase is Microsoft’s big show every year, where new and upcoming game titles are revealed.

As in previous years, Microsoft will livestream the showcase on Sunday, starting at 10 a.m. Pacific Standard Time. So it will be late enough in the morning that West Coast viewers won’t miss it. At the same time, it’s 1:00 PM Eastern, so if you live on the East Coast, it’s the middle of the day.

This will be Microsoft’s first showcase since it acquired Activision Blizzard. As such, it will feature announcements from across the entire portfolio of Microsoft studios. Additionally, Microsoft says there will also be some announcements around third-party studios. “This will also be our first Showcase featuring games from our portfolio of studios at Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda and Xbox Game Studios, in addition to titles from our third-party partners,” Microsoft said in its official Xbox blog post.

Given the time of year and what has been confirmed later this year, viewers can expect more information about the upcoming expansion for Diablo IV. Microsoft will also likely share more details about the upcoming Starfield DLC, which will also be released later this year.

The Call of Duty Direct follows the Xbox Showcase and features the 2024 franchise title

Last year, Microsoft held a big Starfield Direct on June 11 after the main showcase, highlighting a ton of gameplay footage and new details about Bethesda’s upcoming space-based RPG. The nearly hour-long Direct delved deeply into the game’s many systems, character progression, and more. Giving players an overview of what would happen when the game launched last September.

This year’s Direct will feature the 2024 Call of Duty title. Now that it’s confirmed to be set in the Black Ops franchise, Microsoft isn’t actually mentioning what the title will be. In fact, Call of Duty isn’t even mentioned as the game featured in the Direct. However, fans will notice the Black Ops-style artwork Microsoft’s teaser. Other telling details, like the font and redacted bits of text, make this a pretty dead giveaway.

As reported by The Verge: “people familiar with the matter” also confirm that Call of Duty is in fact the game that Microsoft will present.

The showcase will be streamed live via social channels
