The Turok 3 remaster is getting a physical release

If you grew up with a Nintendo 64, then you’re probably familiar with the Turok series, and now’s your chance to relive that magic with the physical release of the remaster of Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion. Limited Run Games has announced an official physical release of the game, with pre-orders live from June 7. Pre-orders can also be placed through July 7, when the game launches.

Limited Run, as explained by its namesake, does not release too many copies of the releases it puts out. So Turok fans will definitely want to jump on this release if they’re eager to get a physical copy. You can play the game on three separate platforms: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. There will also be two different editions available. The Standard Edition, which costs $30, and the Classic Edition, which costs $60.

Consider the Classic Edition a special Deluxe Edition, as it comes with a few extra goodies. Again, keep in mind that these will be limited. That said, there is no mention of how many units will be made.

The physical release of Turok 3 will be joined by Turok 1 & 2 for Xbox

If a physical release of Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion wasn’t enough, you can also own physical releases of the Turok 1 and Turok 2 remasters. These are only being released for Xbox One, and there’s a good reason for that. The PS4 and Nintendo Switch releases of both remasters were released years ago. Both games came to the Nintendo Switch in 2019 and then to the PS4 in 2021. At the time, Xbox One was the only console platform not to receive a copy. That is, until now.

This means that if you play on Xbox, you can easily get the entire trilogy in one go. Worth noting that none of these releases will be available anytime soon. The pre-orders start today, but the physical copies are still in pre-production. Orders will not be shipped until October.

Add to your Turok collection with extra goodies

In addition to the games, Limited Run expands your collection with more goodies with the Turok theme. The first is a sturdy case that fits all three game cases. If you plan on owning all three, this case is a nice way to keep them all together and organized. These will be compatible with the Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One.

Other goodies are included with the Classic Edition. These include a retro embossed foil box, a reversible poster, the CD game soundtrack and a replica metal retro cartridge.
