The weather on Labor Day will be a repeat of the weekend: hot, dry
No rain is expected to fall during the Labor Day parade or picnic in the Denver area on Monday.
The National Weather Service in Boulder is calling for the hot, dry weather to continue, with temperatures reaching 89 degrees and dropping to a low of around 60 degrees tonight.
More of the same is forecast for Tuesday, with a small chance of thunder in the afternoon.
Fire danger will be high in places across the Eastern Plains, the weather service said. Much of Colorado’s Front Range and southeastern Plains are abnormally dry, according to the newspaper US Drought Monitor. Portions of the northern Front Range, including parts of Jefferson, Denver, Adams and Boulder counties, are experiencing moderate to severe drought.
Slightly cooler weather is forecast for metro Denver starting mid-week. High temperatures are expected to drop into the mid-80s and the chance of rain showers will likely increase.
