This Lesser-Known Island Named The No. 1 Beach Destination In The Caribbean

Once again, the beautiful islands of Turks and Caicos have been named the Caribbean’s premier beach destination and the Caribbean’s most romantic destination. the World Travel Awards 2024.

No surprise. This British Overseas Territory wins in the same categories for five and six years respectively.

“There is no denying that the Turks and Caicos Islands are naturally beautiful with the best beaches in the Caribbean and I am once again very proud of this recognition,” said Minister of Tourism, the Hon. Josephine Connolly.

The politician took the opportunity to invite international travelers to visit these islands and see for themselves why they receive so many awards.

“I would encourage those who have yet to experience the beauty of the Turks and Caicos Islands to visit and see why our multi-island destination consistently earns these accolades,” she concluded.


Many other tourism-related businesses in Turks and Caicos also received awards for their excellent quality. This includes several hotels and resorts, travel agencies and even a car rental company.

Turks and Caicos Islands are not only beautiful, but also profitable.

During the first five months of 2024, this destination experienced unprecedented tourism growth led by American travelers.

During this period, aircraft arrivals increased by 10.85% compared to the same period in 2023. In March alone, the destination broke a record with 77,559 arrivals, an increase of 15.57% compared to the same month last year.

“Our destiny remains strong. We see our airline arrivals increasing by more than 65 percent over the next six months and we are working very closely with our partners to ensure the market remains strong.” said Alvin Hegner, president of Experience Turks and Caicos, in May.

Cruise passengers have also decided to flock to this destination in 2024. In May, the Turks and Caicos Islands saw a 73.74% increase compared to May 2023.

Last year the destination welcomed more than 1.5 million travelers.

According to data from Google Flights Turks and Caicos Islands are the most sought after destination for US-based couples and family vacations.
