Haddish faced backlash for similar comments he made during a stand-up show in New York City last weekend.

According to Haddish, the pro-Palestinian demonstrators at colleges and universities across the country “must protest all places where genocide is taking place.” She also wondered why no pro-black protests were organized.

“I think if they’re going to protest for one place, they should also protest for all the places where genocide is happening,” Haddish said Monday. “How many black people have to die before we can have a protest? Who built that damn university you are protesting?”

“If you want to protest, protest,” she continued. “But if you really want to be effective and effect change, go to Congress. Who makes the laws? Who will bring about the change?”

‘Do you want to reach those people? Become a lobbyist and talk to them.’

Meanwhile, Haddish also criticized the university protesters “blocking” other students. unable to continue their education and graduate – especially after many students have already missed their high school diplomas due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“You study and you block other people who have worked all their lives from going to school,” the comedian said during her interview with TMZ. “They spent all these thousands of dollars to get an education and you’re keeping them from going to class?”

“Can’t they graduate?” she continued. “Most of them already missed their graduation because of the pandemic, and now they’re going to miss it because you’re protesting?”

Haddish concluded her remarks by telling the university protesters to “do it, but do it better.” She also suggested that protesters should change their tactics and “talk to the office holders” or “write a letter” demanding change.
