Trump Jr. calls on supporters to ‘fight’ after attempted murder of his father
“He looked at the crowd and what did he say?” the younger Trump asked at the RNC. Screens on stage showed a now iconic Associated Press photo of Trump with his bloody face and his fist raised.
“Fight!” the crowd sang.
“And we will fight,” Trump Jr. said. “We will fight with our vote. We will fight with our ideas. And on November 5, we will fight with our vote.”
During his speech, Trump Jr. spoke about the moment his father was almost killed and Comperatore’s death.
“We were millimeters away from one of the darkest moments in our country’s history,” Trump Jr. said. “But we did lose an American hero that day. We wish he were here with us tonight, but his heart will live on in the country and community he loved. “So tonight I want to take a moment to express our gratitude for the life and service of American hero Corey Comperatore.”
The crowd chanted, “Corey!”
