Tulsi Gabbard's aunt stabbed to death and beaten with a hammer

According to the New York PostThe two women, Sinaviana-Gabbard and Figiel, were reportedly alone in Figiel’s home, which also serves as the local theater called GaluMoana Theater, when the confrontation turned fatal.

Sinaviana-Gabbard, a former professor at the University of Hawaii and believed to be Figiel’s mentor, tragically lost her life in the confrontation.

Police Commissioner of Samoa Auapaau Logoitino Filipo revealed: “It is alleged that a hammer was used as well as a small knife causing multiple stab wounds to the deceased.”

Figiel then fled the scene and surrendered to authorities. Initially arrested for manslaughter, Figiel was charged with murder after an extensive investigation.
