Two wildfires started in the Littleton neighborhood on Saturday

Firefighters are investigating the cause of two fires that broke out in a Littleton neighborhood Saturday afternoon.

South Metro Fire Rescue crews and officers from the Littleton Police Department responded to reports of two small fires that burned brush, trees and a fence in a Littleton neighborhood, according to a statement from the fire brigade on social media.

South Metro crews were working to extinguish the two fires in the area West Bowles Avenue and South Coventry Lane around the afternoon. At 12:30 p.m., firefighters announced that the flames were under control and crews were working to extinguish the remaining hot spots.

Motorists can expect traffic delays in the area as fire investigators try to determine what caused the two fires. South Metro officials said.
