The Champions League is back! After a short break, the quarter-finals are scheduled for Wednesday. Atletico Madrid advanced past the Round of 16 and will now take on Borussia Dortmund at Estadio Civitas Metropolitano on April 10 at 3:00 PM ET. Both teams come into the match strengthened by wins in their previous tournament matches.

It may have taken extra minutes to get the job done, but Atletico Madrid finally got the result they were hoping for in March. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Inter and sneaked past the 2-1. Atletico Madrid better thank their lucky stars for Memphis Depay’s performance as he scored both goals for his team.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund have not lost a Champions League match since September 19, 2023, a trend that continued in their final match of March. They did not leave PSV on the board for a moment and left with a 2-0 victory. Borussia Dortmund achieved success, even though the referees missed nothing: Niklas Sule and Felix Nmecha both received yellow cards.

Atletico Madrid’s win was their fourth home game in a row, increasing their record to 5-2-1. Those good results were largely down to their attacking performances over that stretch, as they scored thirteen goals in those four games. As for Borussia Dortmund, their win increased their record to 4-3-1.
