Inter Miami hit the road in the MLS on Saturday with a date at CF Montreal. Inter enters the match with a 7-3-2 record, first place in the East and a red-hot attack, scoring at least three goals in the last four games, including 10 in the last two. On the other hand, Montreal is 3-3-4 with 12 points, but still in the thick of playoff battle as we slowly approach the midway point of the season.

Last time out, Lionel Messi made even more history with an absolutely astonishing five assists and a goal in the second half of a 6-2 win at home to New York Red Bulls. What magic does he have in store for Saturday?

CF Montreal: After a brief rest after facing Force in the quarterfinals of the Canadian Championship on Tuesday, Montreal is now winless in their last four games. They defeated Inter Miami on March 10, but have won only one of eight games since then. That win over the Herons did not involve Lionel Messi, so it is safe to expect this one to go differently. Suffering from a lack of defensive cohesion, they will need a top performance to get all three points.

InterMiami: Inter have received a major boost with the return of Jordi Alba, who trained on May 8 and appears close to recovery from injury. He is a crucial part of the team because of his ability at both ends of the pitch. His best impact may be defensively, as the team has had no trouble putting the ball away. But a player as smart as him, with his awareness and cohesion with his former Barcelona teammates, should help the team generate more possession and worry less at the back.
