World of Warcraft is now playable in the cloud via GeForce NOW

Slowly but surely, NVIDIA has brought Activision Blizzard’s games back to market with GeForce NOW, and as of today that includes World of Warcraft. You may remember from years ago that many Activision Blizzard games were actually available on GeForce NOW. This was several years ago, when the service was still in early beta. However, Activision requested that its games be removed from service and did not renew its contract to keep the games playable.

Things changed with Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, as part of the agreement to appease regulators included a deal with NVIDIA to include some of its games. This started with titles like Hearthstone, Overwatch 2, Diablo IV, Call of Duty and eventually a few games from the older Diablo and StarCraft franchises. One of the latest disappointments was Blizzard’s biggest game. World of Warcraft. The globally popular MMO that was for a time one of the most popular games in the world.

Make no mistake: this is a big day for GeForce NOW and for World of Warcraft fans. Players now have a way to stream the game in the cloud from even the most basic laptops, as long as they have an internet connection. And with maximum graphics settings if they are subscribed to the Ultimate membership.

GeForce NOW achieves three World of Warcraft titles

GeForce NOW World of Warcraft series

Whether you play Horde or Alliance, Night Elf Druid or Goblin Rogue, all of Azeroth is welcome in the cloud. The current addition to the World of Warcraft series includes three of the franchise titles. Players can stream World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, the main game via the latest expansion. Then there are two Classic options: World of Warcraft Classic and the recently launched World of Warcraft Cataclysm Classic.

There’s a good chance that GeForce NOW will eventually include the upcoming The War Within expansion. Not to mention new Classic releases. This is of course not confirmed. But NVIDIA has done this with Elder Scrolls Online and all the new patches for Genshin Impact. So it makes sense that this will also happen with WoW. If you’re not into World of Warcraft, NVIDIA is bringing a total of 17 games to the service this month.

There are 7 new games to play this week, 17 in total for June

World of Warcraft isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and that’s fine. The good news is that there are other games coming to GeForce NOW this week. Four more games in fact, inclusive Villain Prince of Persia, a new release that came out on May 27th. There are also Capes, Lords of the Fallen and Soulmask. As for the rest of the games in June, there are ten more. This includes Autopsy Simulator, Chornobyl Liquidators, Sunnyside, Still Wakes the Deep, Disney Speedstorm, Farm Together 2, Resident Evil Village, Star Traders: Frontiers, Street Fighter 6 and Torque Drift 2.

Outside of the new games, if you are an ESO player, you can receive a reward for your subscription. Ultimate and Priority members get a free in-game mount from the GeForce NOW rewards program. To get this you must have signed up. So make sure you do that. You can also claim the mountain today. Free members will also receive this reward from May 31.
