Xiaomi has announced the latest in its Turbo range of smartphones and the Redmi Turbo 3 looks great in several technical ways, but the Harry Potter Limited Edition is the most interesting.
This version of the device has a special design with a striking blue and gold back. In addition to the Hogwarts crest front and center, along with ‘Harry Potter’ below, there are more subtle details.
Eagle-eyed fans will notice that the camera flash has a lightning bolt design with a wish in the background and the word ‘Lumos’ next to it. The purple section on the back also contains illustrations of horcruxes, including Rowena Ravenclaw’s diadem and the snake Nagini.
Fans who purchase the Turbo 3 Harry Potter Limited Edition will also receive a presentation box with extras such as a Hogwarts school badge pin, protective case, custom charger and a classic college theme.
It’s sure to be a hit with fans of the global phenomenon and you can buy it now from Giztop for $499 with worldwide shipping.
If you’re interested in more than just the design (it’s also available in black, green, and titanium), the Turbo 3 is one of the first phones to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipsets.
With a focus on performance, the Turbo range fits between Xiaomi’s Redmi K and Redmi Note series. The Turbo 3 also features a large 6.67-inch AMOLED screen, a 50MP main camera with OIS and 90W fast charging – the latter matches the Xiaomi 14 flagship.
You can select different combinations of memory and storage with 12 or 16 GB RAM and 256/512 GB/1 TB storage. Prices range from CNY 1,999 (£220/$276) to CNY 2,799 (£308/$386).
It will be available in China from Xiaomi from April 15 and will likely get a global launch as the Poco F6, but whether this will include the Harry Potter Edition remains to be seen.
This isn’t the first time Xiaomi has collaborated with Warner Bros on a dedicated Harry Potter device, as the Redmi Note 12 Turbo Harry Potter Edition was launched last year.
And if the Turbo 3 isn’t enough for you, Xiaomi has also unveiled a Harry Potter Edition of the Redmi Pad Pro.
It has a simpler design with a large Hogwarts logo and comes with a custom cover that resembles the admission letter. In terms of specs, it has a 12.1-inch 120Hz display, Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, 10,000 mAh battery and 33W fast charging.
The tablet will cost CNY 2,299 (£253 / $317) for an 8/256GB model and will go on sale in China from April 15.
