BREAKING: Secret Service releases statement after vehicle crashes into White House barrier – driver reported dead | The Gateway expert
According to the Secret Service, a vehicle crashed into a White House barricade at high speed on Saturday evening, killing the driver.
A Secret Service investigation is underway, but there was no threat to the White House, a statement said. An investigation into the fatal crash “will be transferred to the Washington Metropolitan Police Department Crash Investigation Unit.”
It is still unclear what caused the car collision.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, another vehicle crashed into the White House gates in January. The driver was taken into custody.

US Secret Service Communications Director Andrew Guglielmo told the public that “there is no threat or impact to public safety.”

The Secret Service statement reads:
STATEMENT ON VEHICLE CRASH AT WHITE HOUSE
Shortly before 10:30 PM on May 4, a vehicle traveling at a high speed collided with an outer perimeter gate of the White House complex. Security protocols were implemented as officers cleared the vehicle and attempted to render aid to the deceased driver. There was no threat to the White House. The fatal crash portion of this will be turned over to the Washington Metropolitan Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit and the Secret Service investigation will continue.

WASHINGTON (7News) — An investigation is underway after a man died in a crash near the White House on Saturday evening, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Around 10:45 p.m., DC police said they responded to the intersection of 15th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in Northwest, DC for reports of a crash. When they arrived, they found a man and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police said a vehicle crashed into a security barrier around the White House. The incident is currently being investigated as a traffic accident.
