A Douglas County man is facing his third child sex exploitation charge
A 35-year-old Douglas County man was arrested for the third time for sexual exploitation of a child. according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
Stacy Garrett Suppeland previously pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of a child in 2013 and 2020, court records show.
He was arrested again on Tuesday for sexual exploitation of a child after “a very intensive investigation,” sheriff’s officials said in a news release.
“Our priority remains protecting our children and upholding justice, and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety of the residents of Douglas County,” Sheriff Darren Weekly said in a statement.
Suppeland pleaded guilty to one count of sexual exploitation of a child in 2013 and was sentenced to lifetime probation under intensive supervision, according to court records. Five other charges of sexual exploitation of a child were dismissed as part of the settlement.
In 2020, Suppeland pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual exploitation of a child and was sentenced to 16 days in jail and 15 years of intensive supervised probation, according to court records. Two other exploitation charges were dismissed.
Suppeland is being held in the Douglas County Jail on $500,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
