Biden says Trump told Americans to inject themselves with bleach – that’s a lie

Joe Biden is repeating the lie that President Donald Trump told Americans to inject themselves with bleach during the pandemic.

Not only is this a lie, it takes what Trump said completely out of context.

Even PolitiFact, no friend of the Trump administration, said it was a lie.

Biden lies: Trump didn’t tell Americans to drink bleach

One of the biggest spreaders of disinformation is President Joe Biden.

PolitiFact reported four years ago, “Joe Biden criticized President Donald Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, saying during a speech on the economy that Trump had given up on managing a crisis he is poor at solving.”

“And when it comes to COVID-19, after months of doing nothing except predicting that the virus would go away, or maybe everything will be fine if you drink bleach, Trump has just given up,” Biden said.

The story continued:

Trump spoke during a now infamous April 23 briefing about the role he believes disinfectants can play in tackling an infection caused by the virus. But he didn’t say people should drink bleach.

His comments came after William Bryan, the undersecretary for science and technology at the Department of Homeland Security, presented a study showing that exposure to the sun and cleaning products such as bleach can kill the virus if it lingers on surfaces.

Trump commented on the effectiveness of these methods and wondered whether they could help fight infections in the human body.

What Trump actually said

Here’s what President Trump actually said on the subject full and in context:

“A question that some of you are probably thinking about if you’re really into that world, which I find very interesting. So presumably we hit the body with a tremendous force, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said this hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it.”

‘And then I said: suppose you bring the light into the body, which you can do through the skin or in some other way. (To Bryan) And I think you said you’re going to test that too. Sounds interesting, right?” he added.

That’s not even remotely what Biden is accusing him of.

Expect Joe Biden to continue lying through November. At this point, this is probably his best chance to keep the White House.
