Bill Maher says Father’s Day should be a time for fathers to rethink the way they raise children

Father’s Day should be a time to rethink parenting so kids aren’t in charge at home…so grouse Bill Maher!
The ‘Real Time’ host got involved in the whole ‘Gentle Parenting’ movement, where parents treat children like right-thinking adults. It turns out that dragging cows to children causes great harm to the children the parents think they are caring for. Bill notes that the average high school student in the early 1950s experiences as much anxiety as a psychiatric patient. Enough said.
Mr. Maher claims that the OG traditional father, or traditional father, is the answer. Go back to treating children as they are: little people without judgment who need discipline and preparation for real life.
In other words: provide tough fathers. When children ask you why they should do something, answer, “Because I said so.” It’s a legitimate answer.
If the goal is to raise children so that they can function and even excel when released into the wild, the mild-mannered father is empirically an abject failure. So get stronger!!!
