North Korea has reportedly fired a long-range missile towards Japan.

The emergency J-alert system has been activated across the country.

Residents of Japan’s Okinawa prefecture were warned about a possible missile launch from North Korea and were ordered to take shelter in buildings or underground structures.

Japan’s Prime Minister’s Office confirms that North Korea has apparently launched a possible ballistic missile.

Japanese NHK news on Twitter/X:

“Around 10:45 p.m., a video taken by a camera filming the sky over North Korea from the Chinese side showed a thin red light rising into the sky, and after a few tens of seconds the light grew larger.”

Japan’s NERV OSINT system quotes NHK News:

“North Korea’s missile launch appears to have failed and is disappearing from the radar, administration official.”
