CNN’s Sara Murray warns the left that Trump could be acquitted at his trial in New York, saying this is the “worst case scenario” for Democrats.
Was this just an attempt to soften the blow if this happened?
Murray points out that if this case fails, it will likely be the only case against Trump that will happen before the election.

A jury acquitting former President Trump in his criminal trial this week in New York would be the “worst-case scenario” for Democrats, a CNN reporter warned Sunday.
“I think it’s very likely that this is the only trial we’ll get before Election Day. And this case is not a slam dunk, which means that Donald Trump may very well not be convicted. Acquitted is the worst-case scenario for Democrats,” said CNN political correspondent Sara Murray.
The jury will hear closing arguments Tuesday in the criminal trial in which Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg charged Trump with 34 counts of first-degree falsifying business records…
“Donald Trump can go out and say, ‘Joe Biden’s accusers,’ which again is not true, ‘came after me, his Justice Department came after me, and they still haven’t convicted me. I’m still innocent,” Murray continued. “I also think you can end up somewhere in this kind of muddy middle, where you end up with a hung jury, a jury that can’t reach a verdict. And then this really just gets kicked out to the voters to decide.
