Conservative columnist outlines what Trump's media strategy should look like in a second term | The Gateway expert

The media in the United States is broken beyond repair. We all know this because we see them all day in and day out and we know they are Democrats first and journalists second.

Kurt Schlichter is a senior columnist at Townhall. In a recent column, he laid out a series of suggestions for Trump and dealing with the press.

In short, Schlichter says time is short and there are certain people in the press who should simply be left out of the conversation.

By Schlichter’s column:

The regime media’s erotic spasms about the New York kangaroo court persuasion – and the free media’s resistance to it – reaffirm the new information reality. Conservatives need to understand that this is not the same media environment that most of us older Republicans grew up in. There are not just three networks. There aren’t just a few basic cable news channels. It’s not just the Washington Post and the New York Times. There’s a whole world of new and different sources of information that mock the old-fashioned zeitgeist gatekeepers…

Republicans, even Donald Trump, regularly went to CBS or NBC, or chatted with the New York Times, and then collectively scratched their heads when they got their good faith in a place where the sun don’t shine. But these are skin suit outlets, shells of the prestigious media icons of the past. These entities are now active enemies. They are not just skeptical. It’s not just people who disagree with us. They are certainly not objective, neutral truth tellers whose sole purpose is to enlighten the masses. They want to actively influence the masses, but they still want the respect that objective journalists are entitled to.

The regime’s media must be avoided. Cut out, frozen, kicked out. They are not called up. They are not spoken to. They are ignored. Starve them…

A powerful, offensive, conservative media strategy is not a luxury. It’s a necessity. The regime’s media are fully armed against us and must not only be neutralized but actively defeated.

Schlichter is right about all this. If Trump wins a second term, he shouldn’t waste time arguing with activists from NBC News or the New York Times. There will not be a second to lose and these media do not deserve attention anyway.
