Duchess Sophie beamed from ear to ear after being invited to an iconic performance normally reserved for the likes of The Princess Kate Middleton.

Sophie has noticed that public interest in her and her status in the royal family has increased since her brother-in-law King Charles III has turned to her and her husband Prince Edward to go the extra mile as he undergoes cancer treatment.

The king has placed his trust in the couple as he steps back from public life. His usual torque Prince William and wife Kate will also no longer perform joint royal duties for the foreseeable future, as the princess also focuses on her recovery from cancer.

In the meantime, Edward and Sophie have taken over the most important ceremonies with great confidence, which has been so successful that Sophie has become the new royal ‘IT girl’ of the moment.

Wearing a vibrant, bold, flowy red dress, the mother-of-two showed her fun side to the crowd in a rare moment as she walked in dramatic style across the famous Abbey Road-marked zebra crossing, recreating the moment the legendary Beatles John, Paul, George And Ringo were photographed walking across it in 1969.

Crowds soon began to gather to cheer on the royal family in her striking neon outfit. The dress, which was ankle-length and had ruffled sleeves, a daring slit to the knee and a slit to the knee, was by Beulah London.

To cement her emerging status as a fashionista, Sophie’s hair was styled in an elegant ponytail and she paired her dress with beige heels and a matching clutch bag.

Sophie is the Global Ambassador for the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness and attended the Orbis Visionaries reception at Abbey Road Studios. Blindness and other eye-related complications are close to her heart. Her daughter, Lady Louise Windsor, was born with a rare eye condition called esotropia, which caused one eye to turn inward and required corrective surgery.

Lady Louise’s operations, which took place some time ago, were completely successful and she is now studying at St Andrews University.

Sophie’s appearance at Abbey Road followed her husband Edward representing Charles in London in the early hours of April 25 for a tribute to the fallen members of the Australian and New Zealand Armed Forces on Anzac Day.

The Duke of Edinburgh attended the Dawn Service at Hyde Park Corner at the New Zealand Memorial. We weekly exclusively reported that Prince Edward put on a brave face as he stepped out for a major royal duty this morning after being left disappointed by a “snub” from his brother King Charles III earlier this week.

He and Sophie hoped to be recognized for their recent efforts for the king, 75, as he and Princess Kate undergo cancer treatment.

However, when the 75-year-old monarch announced his official new royal appointments on Tuesday, April 23, his youngest brother was nowhere on that special list. Charles appointed Kate, 42, as a Royal Knight of the Order of the Companions of Honour. She is the first Royal Companion to be mentioned in this order.

William was also appointed Grand Master of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath. The role has been vacant since 2022 after Charles ascended the throne.

Edward and Sophie have both shown they can be key public faces and their new images in the spotlight have been welcomed by royal fans. On April 8, the couple stood in for the king at a historic military event at Buckingham Palace.
