Coronel, 34, had been convicted in 2021 for trafficking heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana; money laundering; and helping her husband run his criminal enterprise while in prison. She was also accused of aiding his work 2015 breakout from a maximum security prison in Mexico.

Guzman was captured again in 2016 and extradited to the US in 2019. He was sentenced to life plus 30 years in prison in Colorado.

RadarOnline.com told you last January that the cartel leader made a failed plea to the Mexican president Andrés Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) to help him leave the “cruel and unfair” prison in Colorado in hopes of being transferred to a prison in Mexico.
