Elon Musk's X Corp is appealing the lawsuit against the Anti-Hate Group

X filed an appeal with the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday.

San Francisco:

Elon Musk’s X appealed the dismissal of the lawsuit against the nonprofit Center for Countering Digital Hate, which accused him of spreading hate speech on the social media platform once known as Twitter.

X filed an appeal with the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday.

U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer in San Francisco dismissed X’s case on March 25, calling it “clear” that X sued CCDH to silence critics and punish them for their statements.

Although Musk has long billed himself as a champion of free speech, X says CCDH’s research has deterred advertisers and cost tens of millions of dollars in revenue.

Musk bought Twitter in 2022 for $44 billion. According to Forbes magazine, he is the third richest person in the world and also heads the electric car manufacturer Tesla. The appeal may take several months or longer.
