Trump hush money trial transcripts made public – JS
NEW YORK – The New York courts will release the transcripts of Donald Trump’s historic hush money trial.
Each day’s transcripts will be posted online and publicly available before the end of the next business day, “to ensure broad and continued public access to this extremely high-profile case,” according to a press release.
Process procedure Are not broadcast and courtroom space for members of the public is extremely limited, making the transcripts the best and most direct way for the public to follow the first criminal trial of a U.S. president, Administrative Judge Joseph Zayas said in the news release.
“This measure is in the interest of the public interest and is in line with the justice system’s commitment to judicial transparency and ongoing efforts to improve public access to and understanding of the courts and the justice system,” Zayas said.
Court stenographers set their own rates and often charge dollars per page for high-profile cases, sometimes raking in thousands of dollars per day.
The New York Daily News editorial board has extensively called for the release of the transcripts, along with a range of lawyers and other news sources.
