Terry Newsome from Behind enemy lines podcast addresses the ever-growing problem of illegal immigration in the city of Chicago. The crisis in sanctuary cities has become a burden too heavy for blue states to bear. In recent months, Chicago citizens have flooded city council meetings criticizing the Johnson administration for continually catering to the illegal immigrant population while housing them in facilities across the city. Like the Gateway expert As reported in March, migrant facilities in Chicago appear to be hot spots for numerous types of imported crime.

Illinois taxpayers are on the hook for everything from transportation to food, shelter, phones and child care. The many modern ghettos masquerading as migrant facilities have placed an inordinate burden on both first responders and Cook County taxpayers. So much so that Mayor Brandon Johnson recently asked the Chicago City Council for an additional amount of money $70 million to manage the illegal immigration crisis. This is in addition to the $300 million already spent to maintain the crisis.

The irony is that Chicago has seen record crime and violence in recent years as a result of the crisis Illinois Safe-T law passed in 2022. The law puts violent criminals back on the streets through cashless bail. As Newsome wrote in January: the homeless are left to freeze in the subzero temperatures of Chicago while migrants are housed, fed and cared for on the taxpayer’s dime. The combination of rising crime and the cost of living and unlimited spending on illegal immigrants has brought political tension to a breaking point. Recently, an African American voter rebuked the city council with a MAGA hat. The concerned citizen noted that previous funds going to illegal immigrants came from an opioid settlement fund. The harrowing story of a mother who lost her child to a stray bullet and turned to opiates for comfort is not unusual in Chicago.

It seems like the situation in Chicago couldn’t be more chaotic. However, the Freedom of Information Act always pays off. As previously mentioned, a FOIA to the Chicago Police Department in March for the period between January 2023 and February 2024 revealed multiple criminal referrals from the Inn of Chicago migrant facility. Crimes such as assault, burglary, robbery, assault, child abuse, child kidnapping and child endangerment came to light. The latest from Terry Newsome FOIA request about the migrant facility in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood has yielded even more disturbing revelations.

Many similar criminal offenses were found at the Pilsen migrant facility, but most concerning was the non-criminal reporting. Event number 2405108322 describes the case of a lost phone. Upon investigation, the phone revealed recognizable evidence of human trafficking via WhatsApp messages. The report also provides a curious description of the phone itself. The phone is described as “1 Black Vortex Cellphone.” The model number is listed as ‘Vortex’. Interestingly enough, there is a company called Vortex Cellular. More interestingly, Vortex Cellular has a government-issued phone initiative. A recent one LinkedIn article notes, “In this day and age, it has become possible to get a phone for free, especially if you qualify for government assistance programs.” The article goes on to say that the phones are “…funded by the government and facilitated by various wireless service providers.”
