Eric Wynalda — a former U.S. men’s national team soccer star — is named in a battery report involving a teen … but we’re told he’s calling BS on the claims.
According to a Vegas police report obtained by TMZ, Wynalda — who coached his son’s club team at a recent tournament — allegedly exchanged words with a player from the opposing team … who claimed to police that Wynalda gave him a ” bitch’. ‘, insulted his mother and more.

The player told police that he and the coach came face to face and that he (meaning the child) ended up shoving the coach…which led to a fight between the two parties. The teen claims he got scratched during all of this… but said he wasn’t sure if it was EW or the players.
Anyway… eventually a parent on the team called 911 afterward to report the whole thing.
TMZ has obtained video of the alleged incident … which sources say shows how the whole thing started after they say an opponent knocked out Eric’s son with a hard foul.

We’re told that young Wynalda was sidelined for the rest of the match… and the opposing players allegedly started talking trash to EW, who ignored them and just wanted to get on with the game.
The video then shows a player approaching Wynalda and shoving him, while another player appears to throw a ball that hits him in the face. Our Eric sources say he remained calm during the incident and didn’t attack anyone despite the battery report… and FWIW, the video seems to confirm that.
Eric is somewhat of a legend in the American football world. He’s been bouncing around the United States and abroad for nearly two decades, scoring 34 goals in 106 appearances with the United States men’s national team between 1990 and 2000.
We reached out to Eric’s rep, who declined to comment.
