A senior aide with oval office access turned on Trump in a secret briefcase of documents

Special Counsel Jack Smith has once again tried to get Trump to stop endangering the lives of law enforcement officers.

The special counsel wrote in a new motion regarding the classified documents case:

The government is considering changing the conditions of defendant Donald J. Trump’s release to clarify that he may not make any statements that pose a significant, immediate, and foreseeable danger to law enforcement officers participating in the investigation and prosecution of this case.

The administration’s request is necessitated by several deliberately false and inflammatory statements recently made by Trump that distort the circumstances under which the Federal Bureau of Investigation planned and executed the Mar-a-Lago search warrant. These statements create a deeply misleading impression about the intentions and conduct of federal law enforcement agents—falsely implying that they were complicit in a plot to kill him—and expose these agents, some of whom will be witnesses at trial to the risk of threats, violence and intimidation.

The Court has an “independent obligation to protect the integrity of these judicial proceedings.”

A condition of release that prohibits the suspect from making statements that pose a significant, imminent, and foreseeable danger to law enforcement officials participating in the investigation and prosecution of this case is warranted and necessary here. Such a ban will also minimize further prejudice caused by the defendant’s directing false and inflammatory communications about the facts of this case to potential jurors who may be called by the Court for jury service in this case.

Prosecutors argued that without medication from Trump’s release conditions, the ex-president could not tamper with witnesses and juries. Judge Aileen Cannon denied Smith’s first attempt at a gag order, so the special counsel is trying again.

It appears that Cannon’s continued protection of Trump from the bench will be appealed at some point. Special Prosecutor Smith appears to be using all reasonable means to protect witnesses and jurors.

If Trump’s speech isn’t limited, we all know what he’s going to do. Trump has been ruthless in his attempts to tamper with his affairs.

Judge Aileen Cannon lets him get away with it, but Jack Smith doesn’t stop his efforts to protect witnesses, jurors and law enforcement.
