Just in: Boeing whistleblower John Barnett's suicide note revealed | The Gateway expert

Boeing whistleblower John Barnett was found dead of a “self-inflicted” gunshot wound in his vehicle outside a hotel in Charleston, South Carolina, while testifying against the aircraft company.

John Barnett was found dead on March 9 on day three of his deposition against Boeing. He worked for Boeing for 32 years until retiring in 2017.

Barnett raised concerns about defective parts and serious problems with the oxygen masks.

The whistleblower told the BBC that “substandard parts had even been taken from scrap bins and fitted to aircraft under construction to avoid delays on the production line.”

“He also claimed that tests on emergency oxygen systems that would be fitted to the 787 showed a failure rate of 25%, meaning one in four could not be deployed in a real emergency.” – BBC reported.

Barnett died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the Charleston County coroner’s report.

“All findings were consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” reads the report from Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal, according to Fox news.

Barnett’s actions “can best be classified as ‘suicide,'” the coroner wrote.

The New York Post obtained Barnett’s suicide note, which was found in his car at the time of his death.

“I can’t do this anymore! Enough!” he wrote, according to a suicide note obtained by The Post. “F*ck Boeing.”

“America,” Barnett continued, “come together or die!! I pray the bastards who ruined my life pay!!! I pray Boeing pays!!! Bury me face down so Boeing and their lying leaders can kiss my ass.

The New York Post reported:

In the moments before he apparently shot himself in the left temple, Boeing whistleblower John Barnett sat in the front seat of his orange Dodge Ram truck and scribbled his final thoughts in a notebook.

“I can’t do this anymore! Enough!” he wrote, according to a suicide note obtained by The Post. “F-Boeing.”

“America,” he continued, “come together or die!! I pray that the mother who ruined my life pays!!! I pray Boeing pays!!! Bury me face down so Boeing and their lying leaders can kiss my ass.

In the letter, Barnett also sends messages to his loved ones.

“For my family and friends, I found my purpose,” he wrote. “I’m at peace with it. I love you even more.”

Authorities say they have verified the handwriting as belonging to Barnett. Only his fingerprints were found on the notebook.

Barnett’s apparent suicide came after several Boeing planes were grounded due to major problems with the aircraft’s construction.

A United Airlines Boeing 737 Max 8 recently suffered a gear failure and crashed off the runway at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

In January, a large piece of an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX exploded in mid-air.

The plane door flew off as Boeing focused on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) hiring practices over passenger safety.
