Lawyer charged with murder of fellow attorney and woman has terminal cancer, colleague says

Dennis, 57, represented his wife, Ashley Prince30, in a statement about a child custody dispute with her ex-husband, Dylan Houston, on Monday. Dylan was represented by his lawyer father Joseph Houston II77.

During the deposition – which took place at Dennis’ company, the Prince Law Group – Joseph allegedly pulled out a firearm and fatally shot Dennis and his ex-daughter-in-law before turning the gun on himself.

Now a former colleague has come forward and claimed that Joseph confided in him that he was dying just days before the incident.

Las Vegas attorney Robert Egel recalled being “stunned” by the tragic news. Eglet, a close friend of Dennis and his family for decades, also knew Joseph. Shortly before the alleged murder-suicide, Eglet claimed Joseph told him he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

“I’m just devastated, just stunned, and I’m having a hard time understanding this,” Eglet continued. “You know, it’s so tragic that I can’t even put it into words. He was one of my best friends for over thirty years and my business partner for over a decade.”

“To know that a co-worker shot him and his ex-daughter-in-law, and in front of his own son, I know all the parties involved and this was just so strange to Joe,” Eglet added.

The Houston family released a statement asking the public not to make assumptions about the shooting until police complete their investigation.

“Our family is in a state of deep shock and sadness over yesterday’s events. We ask for prayers and privacy as we try to get through the next few days,” a family spokesperson told FOX5 Vegas.

“The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is still conducting an investigation and as that continues, speculation about the details of the incident only adds further trauma to our already grieving and overwhelmed families. We have full confidence in Metro’s efforts and will defer any future comments to us. as their investigation unfolds.”
